I've had this desk in my garage for about a year now!  I painted it in General Finishes Lamp Black which I love!!  I've not been a fan of using black because the only black I'd tried before was Annie Sloan's Graphite which is not a true black.  I did lightly sand the desk before painting to make sure the paint would stick.  It's a lot thinner than what I'm used to, but it went on really quick and self levels very nicely.  It covered in two coats.  It's a little harder to distress than the chalk paint, but I'll definately use it again!  I used Annie Sloan's clear wax to seal, top was re-stained in dark walnut, and I used a mix of ebony, spanish copper, and antique gold rub n buff on the hardware.  When I started on this desk I saw Picked & Painted's dresser and knew I wanted lots of wood showing through.  I love how it turned out.  :)
