Weathered Chest #2

I did a smaller version of this one a few weeks ago and loved these blue knobs from Hobby Lobby with the Coco and White wash so much I had to do it again!  This is a solid pine piece that has been well loved.  It lived with a man who's eight grandchildren used it.  The top had lots of scratches, dents, and dings.  I sanded most out but left a few dings in the top.  I absolutely love a stained pine top, it has so much character.  The white was highlighted all the scratches and dents in the body and helped to give it that weathered beachy look.

Antique Chest in a French Linen Wash

I was able to get this chest of drawers and bed from CL not long ago.  They were in great shape aside from the usual scratches and nicks that come with age. The chest also came with beautiful hardware, original casters, and gorgeous legs!  I usually paint or replace the hardware, but left these alone.  I thought the color went really well with the paint color and I wanted the detail on them to stand out.  I painted it in French Linen with an Old White/Pure White wash.

Chest of Drawers in Indigo

Mahogany chest on chest painted in American Paint Company's Shining Seas.  My sister in law picked this color out and I really like it even though I usually stick with the more neutral colors.  I used rub n buff in Grecian Gold on the original pulls and hated it!  I took all the hardware off in order to re-paint the dresser in Coco, but when the hardware came off I really liked the color.  So I filled in some of the holes and put on glass knobs - much better!

Sorry about the pictures, they are kind of washed out - I find it very hard to photograph blues and it's snowy and dreary here today.
