Chest & Desk Set

Another CL find - love furniture with ball and claw feet!  I knew I wanted to bring out the detail in the feet so I used Paris Grey and Old White on this set.  I rarely use Paris Grey without adding Graphite to it, but after painting these pieces I may not ever darken it again. The pictures don't do the color justice.

Union Jack #7

I'm running out of titles for these so I will just call this one what it is - the 7th Union Jack I've painted.  I love the colors on this one.  The body is a mix of Paris Grey and Graphite with Pure White and Louis Blue for the stripes.  I wasn't loving the original hardware with it so I changed them out with glass pulls.  This would be such a cute accent piece in a nursery, foyer, or bedroom.

Mahogany Dresser in Old White

Finally done with this one!  I found it in a local thrift store where it sat for months before I finally bought it.  It's solid mahogany from 1956.  I had the top looking perfect with one coat of poly on it, when I started to sand before putting on another coat the 1st coat started peeling up - aghhhhh!  I had to completely sand it down and start over.  I have no idea what happened.  I shellacked all the drawers prior to painting so I wouldn't have bleed through.  The finished product has 3 coats of old white, clear wax, and a dark walnut top.  I also sanded down the inside of the drawers and went over them with restore a finish.

My newest find which I'm keeping :) - It will be going against a dark brown wall.  If you were going to paint it what color would you pick??

Vintage "Old White" Dresser

(Sold)
54"W x 34"W x 19D

This is the dresser that matches this chest. Solid wood 6 drawer bow front dresser painted in Old White with Jacobean stained top.  Hepplewhite hardware painted in oil rubbed bronze.  I love the curves and simple lines of this style furniture. This would look adorable in a nursery, bedroom, to hold a flat screen, or used as a small buffet.

Cloudy days and poor indoor lighting make for bad pictures - sorry!

Vintage White Chest

(Sold)
46"H x 34"W x 19"D

Find me on Facebook here.

I got this chest with the matching dresser and painted them both in Old White.  This and the french provincial style furniture are two of my favorites!  I love the bow front on these pieces.  The lines are simple and can be both masculine and feminine.  I painted the original hardware in oil rubbed bronze and tried Jacobean stain on the tops this time, it's just slightly darker than dark walnut.  The wood grain is beautiful on this piece!

Should be finished with the matching dresser in a few days.  :)

I am slowly plugging away at this one as well:

Curvy Dresser in White

Sold
31 1/2" H x 19 1/2"D x 62 1/2"W
I mixed half and half Old White and Pure White for this dresser and used Artisan Enhancements in Pearl Plaster everywhere but the drawers and top.  I dry brushed the Pearl Plaster on and it gives it a slight metallic distressed look.  I used it on this dresser as well.  The top was re-stained in dark walnut and the original hardware painted in oil rubbed bronze.  This piece would work just about anywhere!  Excuse my photography skills - I have none!  I tried using a flash and it was too bright and it's a little cloudy today.

Didn't get a before, but it was all brown with brassy hardware like most vintage pieces.  :)

Drexel Bow Front Chest

 Sold
49"H x 38"W x 20 1/2D

I found this chest on CL right around the corner which rarely happens!  It had just been listed so I ran over  opened the top drawer and saw Drexel and said I'll take it!  It has a nice curve to the front and is solid wood with great hardware.  I painted it in French Linen, oil rubbed bronze hardware, and a dark walnut stained top.

(I got the shoe form and cute little bird at Queen of Hearts Alpharetta today - love that place!)
