Union Jack Take Two

This is my 2nd Union Jack piece. I just love these pieces once their done. The stripes on the last one were easy because the surface was flat. On this piece I had to go over trim so it was a little frustrating, but with my husband's help we got it done!

I used CeCe Caldwell's Seattle Mist and Simply White and sealed with Annie Sloan's clear wax. The top was stripped and stained with dark walnut and the pulls were from another piece. As much as I like the red, white, and blue Union Jacks I really love the ones done in more neutral colors.

Finally done!

I've had this china cabinet sitting in my dining room for 2 years waiting to be painted. It is by Drexel and I found it on CL for $65! I bought it before I knew anything about chalk paint. So glad I waited. It was hard enough to paint not having to prime and sand I can't imagine having to do all that on this thing that does not come apart! I used CeCe Caldwell's Seattle Mist with a little Annie Sloan's French Linen brushed on top, some light distressing, and waxed to seal. I love how my Grandmother's china pops off the color. The china I got when we were married is still boxed up in our basement - never been used!

French Linen Dresser

I found this bow front dresser with hardware that I love at an estate sale a while back. I normally don't have much luck at estate sales, but this one was a pretty good price and I loved the size and shape of it. I was going to paint it using CeCe Caldwell's Seattle Mist, but then I saw this desk painted in French Linen and loved it! I've used French Linen before on this dresser. I restained the top in english chestnut, but it wasn't quite dark enough so I put a coat of dark walnut on top then I was happy. I spray painted the original hardware oil rubbed bronze (these are my favorite types of pulls). I used CeCe Caldwell's wax over the paint. This wax just paints on like melted butter and has a beautiful soft sheen.

Henredon Coffee Table

I found this coffee table at a yard sale a few weeks ago. I looked at it and walked on because I normally stick with dressers, buffets, or chests. As I walked away the lady offered a price I couldn't refuse so it went home with me. I had planned on painting it, but when I turned it over to clean it up I saw it said Henredon Fine Furniture! I love it when that happens. :) So I decided to refinish the top in dark walnut and painted the bottom in ASCP French Linen, distressed, and waxed.

Seattle Mist Dresser

This is a dresser that a client had me pick up from CL. I loved the details and the hardware, but it was a mess! It looked like someone poured some type of clear coat over a nice dresser. I have no idea why someone would do that, it really looked like they just poured it on and walked away. I had to sand the whole thing because the clear coat would just flake off if you ran your fingernail across it. I painted it with a base coat of ASCP Old White then CeCe Caldwell's Seattle Mist over that and sealed with AS wax. The hardware was sprayed with oil rubbed bronze spray paint and the top was restained with dark walnut.

Some pictures are with a flash and some without. I have the worst lighting in my house!
