Louis Blue Antique China Cabinet

Sold
After months of sitting in my bedroom (the cabinet not me :) ) I finally finished this china cabinet.  This was my first time using Louis Blue with black glaze and I really like the color!  The finish on the china cabinet was in fairly good condition, but I thought it might fall apart on me when we were putting it in my van.  It was missing one shelf and the back and was really loose everywhere.  We pretty much took it apart taking all the old rusty nails and screws out and replacing them with new ones and adding some supports and wood glue.  Everything got tightened up and it is now nice and solid.  It has so much beautiful detail and I love the legs.  The door came with glass, but I replaced it with chicken wire. The drawer is nice and deep and the shelves have plate grooves if you use it as a china cabinet.  I personally would use it in my bathroom without the door for extra storage if I had a nice big bathroom.  I just love a big chunky piece of furniture!

  1. I painted a cabinet very similar to this one. It was in pieces when I bought it & like you we had to completely reinforce the body. I did chicken wire too, but sprayed it black. Beautiful job! Dee from My Painted Stuff
