French End Table

SOLD

I used Miss Mustard Seed's Milk Paint in Shutter Gray on this end table.  I saw this piece at Scout & Nimble and fell in love with the color.  I first painted it in Annie Sloan's Paris Grey because it was one of those super shiny cherry finishes and I didn't want it to all flake off.  It worked.  It didn't flake at all so I just lightly sanded to distress.  I also changed out the back with a piece of bead board.  I forgot to take a before picture. :(

I also used Shutter Gray on a little dark wood round side table with no base coat and it really, really chipped, but I love it!  That one will be coming up next.

Old White Dresser

(SOLD)

I was lucky enough to find this dresser by White Furniture Company on CL not far from my house.  It was in great condition aside from the dated look.  It has dovetailed drawers that slide open and close perfectly and wooden drawer tracks.  I painted it in Old White, distressed it, and waxed with clear wax.  The top has been restained in dark walnut.

It has great original hardware.

I painted the drawers inside and out with a light coat of french linen so that the wood grain still shows through.

Here is the before:

and the top after being stripped - I love seeing the gorgeous wood underneath the old stain!

This piece would look great in a dining room as a buffet or sideboard, in a living room under as a console under a flat screen, or in a bedroom as a dresser!

Another Jack

***SOLD***

I painted this dresser with a mix of Paris Grey and Graphite, used Pure White for the stripes and clear wax to seal.  The inside of the drawers have been painted blue. It had ugly brass knobs (not original) when I got it so I put glass knobs on because I like a little sparkle :), but you could change out the hardware for a more masculine look.  This is such a versatile size dresser.  It would make a great changing table in a nursery, as a dresser in a bedroom, or even a foyer.  It is a vintage solid piece with dovetailed drawers that work perfectly and wood dust catchers between each drawer.  Has a top drawer that locks, if you find a key.  I usually have good luck at antique stores, but didn't look for one this time.  This piece measures: 45"W x 20"D x 34"H

French Provincial

***Sold***
This may be my favorite color yet!  It's painted Paris Grey with a wash of Graphite.  I saw the technique at Maison Decor and thought it was beautiful.  So I gave it a try and this was the result.

I did the same thing with the mirror frame.  The mirror itself is 1/4" thick and the frame is solid wood.  It weighs a ton!  I painted the hardware black and waxed the dresser with clear wax.  It would be beautiful in any room of the house.
